"Therefore, having been justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
The Gospel is the amazing good news of salvation. We live in a world that is broken, with little hope and no true lasting peace. We all started life in the same state, going day to day without any hope of a future, lost in sin and the wrong in our lives. Many of us have tried to "do our best" with an optimistic view that this will be enough.
The Bible says "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved" (Acts 16v31).
God could never ask us to work our way to heaven, for we all know that we would fail to meet His perfect standard. That is why He sent His Son, the Lord Jesus, into the world to live a perfect life and die to take the punishment for our sins. He not only died, but rose again from the dead 3 days later to show he had conquered death! And now sits at the right hand of His Father in heaven, waiting to bring home all those who trust in Him.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord"
We do not know what tomorrow will bring. This urgency requires that you make a decision today, will you trust in Christ and accept Him as your Saviour, turning away from the wrong you have done? Or will you continue to reject God's grace and live in your own strength, with no peace for eternity. "Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6v2
When do we meet?
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers"
Breaking of Bread
Sundays at 9:45 am
"On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread..." Acts 20v7
"For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come." 1 Corinthians 11v26
Every Sunday morning, we meet as a church to remember the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus in the way He instructed His disciples to.
Anyone is welcome to observe, if you would like to join with us, please bring a letter of commendation or contact Craig or Ian beforehand.
Sundays at 4pm
"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel" Matthew 16v15
Following a short time spent in Witney town centre, sharing the gospel in the open air, we meet together at the Hall, to provide an opportunity for people to hear the Word of God preached.
The Gospel is a simple message, for everyone everywhere. If you have never heard it, please do come along! Bring your questions and we will help you find your answers in the Bible
Prayer and Bible Reading
Tuesdays at 7:30 pm
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3v16-17
We meet together for a short time of prayer, followed by a Bible study, usually going through a book in the Bible. Contact us to find out what passage we will be reading.
